The Big Pasture Plateau is the largest mountain plateau in Slovenia and a popular destination for lovers of nature, hills and cultural heritage. Its picturesque landscape is riddled with still active shepherd's huts and intoxicating green grass on which numerous cows graze under the watchful eye of the local herders. During a visit to the Great Plains you can encounter traditional shepherd culture, sample and buy a traditional lunch of shepherds’ trnič cheese. You can ascent to the Big Pasture Plateau on foot or take a ride with a cable car.
